“It’s so hard to find good help, these days.”
This old saw has become something of a joke, even in its status as a well-trod cliché, often uttered with a half-smile while rolling one’s eyes skyward as if pleading with a higher power for better prospects. But sayings like this become clichés because they are so true in so many circumstances.
It is both joyous and refreshing to find consummate professionals capable of delivering superior quality time and time again…project after project.
When I was looking to publish an audiobook edition of my Science Fiction novel, “It Ain’t Over…,” last summer, I asked the narrator Tia Rider to audition, and she did. The audition was something absurdly small, like 500 words or so, but it was enough. By the end of that project, I offered Tia first refusal to narrate anything I write…until such time as she tells me she’s no longer narrating.
Three projects later (“…Till It’s Over!,” “Haven Ascendant,” and “Awakening”), I’m proofing the audio for “Into Vushaar” and find myself just as pleased I hired her as I was at the end of the “It Ain’t Over…” project.
I made the offer of first refusal all those months ago without reservation or hesitation, and I am proud to stand by it even now, four projects and change into our collaboration.
If you are in the market for a narrator or voice artist, you owe it to yourself to drop by tiarider.com and listen to some of her samples. She delivers exceptional quality with professionalism…all while being excellent to work with.
